Smallville 10.13 "Beacon"

Every time Martha returns you realize how much the show misses that parental guidance outlet that Clark needs, especially since the show seems to have eliminated Fortress Jor-El from the equation. Her conversations with her "daughters" Lois and Chloe were beautiful and classic Martha, and then facing off with Lionel was a touch of the later, fiercer post-Jonathan Martha Kent. It was only slightly annoying that she had to mention Perry so much, but whatever.
Doesn't it feel like even the show knows that the whole Darkseid thing isn't going to work out and are instead focusing on the Luthors return as the villains of season ten (not counting the evil!military/government episodes)? As much as I love John Glover being back in the fold, I do have to admit having some trouble dealing with an evil Lionel again, I was so used to his change of heart in the later seasons (5,6,7?) where after he was inhabited by Jor-El he was trying to help Clark. Now with his antagonistic self back, it takes me back but I still miss good Lionel.
I was watching the episode with others and they were wondering about when Tess stabbed Alexander and the needle bent. I could only come up with two ideas: 1) During the cloning process there was most likely some kryptonite involved or 2) his body is starting to get stronger and return to its prior status when Brainiac had injected Lex back in season five I think and he started to heal instantly.
By the way, I got to thinking what the hell happened to Mia? It feels like the show has forgotten about her much like they have forgotten about John Jones, Stargirl, Zatanna, Maxima and the Wonder Twins. I would have thought some of these would have made at least one appearance in season 10 if not for multiple episodes.
