Chuck 3.13 "vs the Other Guy"
Apr. 5th, 2010 09:38 pmThe last 3-5 minutes of the episode was FANTASTIC, and totally worthy of being the end of a season finale like it almost was. Having Chuck & Sarah in the hotel bedroom in Paris and ignoring Beckman was great as was Casey calling Beckman with the director and a request for Morgan (one thing I've enjoyed of Casey's civilian time was his increased interaction with Morgan and the Buy More folks).
The rest of the episode was a bit MEH for me. The first 5 minutes wrapped up the Shaw taking Sarah somewhere in a very blah way with Chuck looking the fool. The lack of Ellie & Awesome was disappointing (and made me glad this wasn't really the finale). Shaw's time on Chuck came to an end, and I was really surprised how he pretty much lasted nearly the entirety of Season 3 (the last 6 feel like bonus time and that really surprises me because didn't the extension to 19 come pretty quickly if i remember right?). Brandon Routh is a big man who can certainly carry a scene and I'm hoping that this time with Chuck brings him more opportunities to be on screen.
All that said, looking forward to the final 6. I loved seeing the return of several sorely missed characters to the show and I can't wait to see what exactly Morgan will be doing now that he's an official part of Operation Bartowski. I hope as a result of this episode fans return in droves to watching the home stretch of season 3 with the status quo between Chuck and Sarah being what they had hoped for at the beginning of the season.
