Smallville 9.16 "Escape"

emeraldstagThis episode was so, so close to being labeled as my favorite S9 episode behind the "Absolute Justice" event and then the final 3-5 minutes happened. I was willing to overlook the Chlollie, and even the fact that Zod/Tess desecrated the Kent Barn/Loft. (Although was that a shot of Jonathan Kent when Zod was rifling through things in the loft?) But then to have to sit through Chlollie repenting their about their exes and then the Zod/Tess afterglow. The show was so lighthearted/fun before that, reminding me of early Smallville seasons.
It was nice to see some Chlo-Lo interaction, and the mix-up about the Inn with Clark mistaking Chloe's pamphlet as belonging to Lois, and the awkward moment between Clark with Oliver and Clark being protective of Chloe, lastly not to mention the hilariously unexpected Chlark bathroom scene thanks to the Banshee.
Something that seems to happen whenever Lois is not herself, Erica really shines as an actress in making each persona distinctive in look and sound, always a great watch. And I can't believe I almost forgot to mention the LOL moment of Clark explaining to Chloe that his training with Jor-El helped him CONTROL EVERYTHING.
Not too excited about next week especially since the hunting of Watchtower people was just done in "Disciple". And Chloe captured, didn't we just do that in "Arctic" & "Odyssey"?
