Been using the current hiatus between new episodes to catch up on the last three. I saw "Torn" and "Hunger" fairly quickly but I wanted to wait until I finally had the time to see "Princess" this week to comment on the episodes. Also with Seeker S3 in jeopardy, I really hope someway it keeps continuing because I've become entrenched with these characters and don't want to say goodbye to them way before their time.
While it was interesting to see the Sisters of the Dark again and specifically Sister Nicci, it's unfortunate that she was resurrected in a new body (like Kahlan's sister a few episodes ago) meaning that we won't see Jolene Blalock again in the role. And since Sister Nicci was able to escape, I assume she'll pop up again sometime this season, seems like she's this season's recurring villain.
- Kahlan in "Torn". Because I didn't get to see this episode right away I did get spoiled on the fact that Kahlan was in fact torn in two, her Mother Confessor side, and the side that loves Richard. There were a few things that surprised me during the episode, like when MC!Kahlan decided to take a mate almost as quickly as Love!Kahlan realized she and Richard could finally couple without worrying about her powers. The other surprise was when the other wizard turned on Zedd, but once he did I immediately went to the Confessed rout which proved to be true.
- Cara in "Hunger". I was wondering how Cara was going to die when I saw a still of her in the underworld, and while it was the basis of the episode I was really disappointed in the way they decided to have her die. I didn't really believe that one man would get a drop on her like that, especially enough to make a mortal wound. I did enjoy the show of her strength as she tried to hold on as a Baneling and would get her kills on the baddies they crossed. Darken Rahl and the Keeper sure make a lot of rules about being a Baneling. After that, I had a lot of fun seeing Ted Raimi again and also Zedd's brother. The ending was a bit too much of the wrapping everything up neatly method, but I did like that it showed just how much Cara cares for Richard and the crew.
- Zedd/Richard/Cara in "Princess". The only problem I had with this episode was much like "Hunger" in that it was incredibly easy for Kahlan to be captured and whisked away, something that should have been a little harder given her abilities. Also those creatures reminded me of the ones that were on an episode of Merlin, I think the S1 Lancelot episode? Seeing Zedd in a dress was hilarious, although having the Margrave's assistant hitting him only made it better. Richard having to seduce the Margrave's sister, trying to get in the dungeon talking about chains and all the ladies throwing themselves at him was fun. Not to mention going blonde. It'd be fun if that stayed around for a few episodes to pass true time, but I bet he'll be back to normal by the next new episode. And Cara trying to go by the ridiculous rules that women needed to abide by and portray a princess was hilarious, as was her attempts of seduction through the hunt.
