Chuck 3.06 "vs the Nacho Sampler"

A month of Chuck is in the books and I think we've reached the last of the episodes that were used to tease during Winter for the upcoming season. Also I don't remember any utterance of "don't freak out" tonight so a step in the right direction. They were starting to overuse that phrase this season.

• Chuck & Sarah. One thing I loved about this episode was how Chuck gaining an asset was similar to Sarah's mindset when she went to meet Chuck at the beginning of the show. It was fun to see parts of the first episode again, really takes me back with how things are different yet very much the same from the start. More of Chuck's increasing role as a spy, not being left handcuffed to the chair (something I think Casey and Sarah would have done in seasons past) and not giving in and being able to burn an asset. It's interesting to see this and the ease with how Chuck lies to his sister, and how more and more Sarah seems to be not liking how Chuck is evolving, away from his innocent beginnings to a colder-hearted spy like Casey.
• Awesome. In my rankings of favorite Chuck character, Devon is passing Casey so far in S3 with having to lie for Chuck and being terrible at it. His nervousness and just how freaked out he is has been hilarious to watch. He can't hide anything from Ellie.
• Ellie & Morgan. This is where I think the season hinges on. It's been said that someone else will find out about Chuck, and that worries me because they'll probably pick a character that will created funny moments having to make excuses for Chuck. I think Awesome's inclusion makes Ellie not a choice, and with Morgan being the assistant manager at the Buy More makes him a possible choice. Outside of them, the other characters are not exactly ones that I'd like to see their roles increased because of the secret. I'm sure Lester & Jeff tailing Chuck will be interesting to watch but I really don't want either to find out.

Next week's preview looks interesting, Chuck considered a casanova, kissing Hannah (for the first time?) and inevitably getting her in danger because of some mission he's a part of. Once again his personal life, clashes with his spy life, for the first time since S1 Lou I think (since S2 Jill was Fulcrum). Don't freak out.
