Smallville 10.09 "Patriot"

emeraldstagThis felt like a really average episode. Nothing horrible nor spectacular.
It was great to see Aquaman again for the first time since the season 8 premiere "Odyssey" but WTF with AC suddenly being married?! I was fine with introducing Mera in the episode but seriously the pairing off of characters on this show this season is in overdrive. And the whole point of that seemed to be so that AC could give Clark couples advice, really?
Also nice to see Emil Hamilton again. I had thought they had forgotten about him or worse that they were making him into a character exclusively connected to the group through Chloe. That said, the whole Lois threatening Hamilton to get him to admit where Clark and the others were was a bit much. Also I did not understand the lack of reaction she had to the knowledge that AC is part of the superhero club or why Lois complaining about Clark keeping her out of his superhero duties was such a big deal considering this is all new territory for them. But Worst of all, the awkward Watchtower welcome is ALL WRONG WITHOUT CHLOE. The lack of Chloe is ruining all of these discoveries by Lois and the missed chances for awkward familial moments before they develop into awesome Chlo-Lo scenes.
I am becoming so familiar with the windows phone placement in TV shows the last few weeks. Microsoft is paying off all these shows to get them screen time and I love it.
You know who I miss? Maxima. But with Clois in overdrive there is no way they are going to revisit that character, and probably why you won't see Zatanna in this final season given what happened in her S9 appearance.
Clark was a bit too preachy in this episode, but I must admit that I loved his line to Slade Wilson that I quoted for the entry cut. ALSO WTF SLADE WILSON? Talk about an under the radar DC character cameo, I did not even know he was who he was until I read the wiki on the episode.
