Chuck 4.04 "vs the Coup d'Etat"

emeraldstagI'm trying not be consistently negative about the way Chuck/Sarah is being handled this season, but I really don't need to see every little degree of relationship hurdles going on with them. It's like the show runners have gone a complete 180 with them and are shoving Chuck/Sarah down our throats. The missions, action are now taking a backseat to "CHUCK AND SARAH DON'T COMMUNICATE".
This episode only pointed out to me that Awesome/Ellie's presence have taken a backseat this season. Now that Chuck doesn't live with them we don't get those incidental scenes of them in the background or interrupting something and when is the last time we've seen them in the hospital doing doctoring. Instead the baby plot has turned them into a very boring couple we barely see (I feared this at the end of last season when Awesome was scared for their safety and they ran away from Chuck).
And I was hoping that this season would see more of Morgan and Casey interacting, but instead of furthering that or growing Casey as a father they've decided to make Casey's daughter a love interest for Morgan and I'm just not interested in that wrench thrown into things. It makes Casey seem older and into the grumpy dad category while I also don't see the need to have everyone paired off. It would be funny for times when they need to seduce someone to send in Morgan, it would definitely feel like early season Chuck.
Since the S3 finale, my enthusiasm for the search for Chuck's Mom has steadily waned. And it looks like the show is making it more of small background story where every mission they happen to be involved in has something to do with her vaguely which is boring. I'd rather have Stephen Bartowski back instead to be honest, he was a much more interesting and endearing character.
