Chuck 4.02 "vs the Suitcase"

emeraldstagUnlike last week's episode, this title I could actually interpret in the show.
It was great to finally see Awesome again and I wish they had given him and Ellie more scene time in the episode. That said, it really feels like Ellie is being boxed into the "i am having baby/I miss my parents" category for season 4. I was totally expecting that album at the end when Ellie walked into the closet, I'm just glad that the show put some Scott Bakula shots in there too.
I think the show has a problem with their episode changing super spy/Buy More employee because, if you don't read the blogs or twitters on Chuck S4 news then how would you even know that they have this gag/character going on? They don't explain it and they barely spend anytime on it at all. I imagine there are a few viewers out there completely confused and probably wondered where Olivia Munn was in this episode.
I am glad that they haven't forgotten about Casey's daughter. I was hoping that they'd make her a part of the regular cast, but I guess recurring character is the most we can expect with how NBC treats the show's budget. I don't know how I feel about the idea of a little Morgan/Alex thing developing as that really makes Casey seem old (I know the actor is in his late forties but still, I fear that could remove some of the comradery aspect to the spy team).
I was disappointed with this episode. I didn't find much funny and I thought it dwelled too much on worried Chuck/Sarah about the suitcase and setting down roots and I dread where they are going with the Buy More. I knew that they'd be bringing back Jeff, Lester and eventually Big Mike, but I liked the General being in charge of the place and with Morgan given the keys of the kingdom it almost feels like the next step will be him making Big Mike manager again.
