Legend of the Seeker 2.14 "Bound"

emeraldstagI was surprised by the incredibly darker tone this episode had when compared to all of the previous episodes of Seeker & other syndicated fantasy series before it. I have to believe that it's part of staying true to the source material (assumption on my part) but it was still a shock to see Nicci purposely get abused by a man in the bedroom, Nicci talk of being sexually assaulted twice when she was a novice and then the talk of Kahlan's dad forcing them to confess a woman into his bed. Provocative, it was just some nudity away from being a premium cable fantasy show like Spartacus. XD
I'm a little tired of the "Kahlan is the damsel in distress" plot that seems to be prevalent in S2 episodes of Seeker lately ("Torn", "Princess" & now "Bound"). I like it more when the whole gang can get together and save a village or a person instead of trying to get one of their own out of a jam.
I really wish they'd been able to keep Jolene Blalock around to play Nicci because I think that would have been interesting to see and while I totally expected her to break free like she did thanks to Richard's 'pep talk' and makeout session (lol) I am doubly glad that the Sisters of the Dark are mostly dead because they were getting to be a bad kind of annoying for only having shown up 5-6 episodes ago.
