Starting off, I want to wish a very Happy 22nd Birthday (perhaps the best palindrome age) to someone who was my very first Brit friend,
ruhenheim! I hope you're enjoying your Sunday, Sarah, and having fun both inside and out of the internet realm. ♥
Secondly, despite spending parts of Thursday & Friday trying to fix the water heater, the water is only coming out lukewarm. Going to give it one more shot to get it hotter and if it doesn't work, a repair guy will have to be called on Monday to fix it this week. Couldn't have happened during the Summer, could it?
Lastly, I just finished reading this week's comics and it feels weird to pick Batgirl as my favorite book of the week. Sure I like Stephanie Brown, and that Barbara is in a mentoring position but there a lot of surrounding details with the Bat family that I haven't been a fan of. DC's fail of using Cassandra Cain correctly at all (AND IGNORING THAT BRUCE ADOPTED HER JUST BEFORE R.I.P.), like their can't be two Batgirls? Their stumble with this makes me dread when Bruce returns and what happens with Dick. Also I'm really over the whole Thomas Elliot masquerading as Bruce Wayne story. I like seeing Vicki Vale again, and I like Huntress being around again, but I don't get what Morrison is doing with Dick (letting Jason Todd & Scarlett beat them and tie them up) or with Damian (getting shot and paralyzed?).
I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and see how badly they mess with some of my favorite characters (not to mention apparently no one connected to the Bat family can have a healthy relationship). Also since there seems to be tension between Black Canary & Green Arrow (after speeding them through reconciliation & marriage and making Dinah's adopted girl disappear just as quickly), and her spot in the JLA seemed to be full of fail, how about getting her mixed in with the Bat family again. I really liked Black Canary's portrayal in All-Star Batman & Robin.
