Smallville 9.18 "Upgrade"
I had forgotten about Chloe & Oliver's kryptonite stockpiles, but that was an incredible rush to judgment by Clark. Especially when later on he reveals that Chloe's stockpiles were what had saved the world back in "Pandora". But I also have to question, how does Zod know about them, and how does Tess know exactly where they are when she couldn't find any back in that earlier episode this season.
I've been wanting a return of Red!K but I was disappointed that there wasn't any sexytime between Clark and any of the Smallville females. It really felt like a wasted plot point that was used just for Clark to reveal his cards to Zod. It felt like Clark was too calculating, focused for someone on Red!K. Especially the bonding with Zod, Clark was too in control of his emotions. The Red!K was misrepresented, Clark should have been more aggressive, spontaneous, mischievous. None of that tonight. RED!K FAIL.
Laughed when Tess easily recaptured Corben and Lois on the bus. Lois made no sense with her passion to protect Corben. I know she felt sorry for how he's been treated/tortured but he didn't exactly treat her well back in "Savior" & "Metallo". That said, I did enjoy Chloe secretly sending Corben to the fortress (by way of the Kawatchi Caves?) and hiding it from Tess. Then Corben coming through and helping Clark out even after the control chip was knocked out. Brian Austin Green is a great actor and for a moment I actually loved the idea of a good guy Metallo being a recurring character in S10.
Tess and her games. I'm so tired of that act. S9 has ruined my liking of her as a character and her trying to play with the big boys and messing everything up. At least last season it seemed like she was doing it for Clark, now its just disappointing. I was hoping they'd take it in a direction of giving Tess/Clark a connection that Lex/Clark couldn't get reach because of the secrets. Now in S9 Tess has more secrets than Clark.
And I was relieved that the whole Clark/Chloe confrontation was overblown, and that it was only a knock down while Clark was under the influence. It was nice that there was a reunion/apology moment at the end but lets not make a trend of these Clark blows up at Chloe comes crawling back at the end to patch things up. How about them working together like they're supposed to be? Seeing handywoman Chloe was adorable though. :) As was Clark's admiration of Chloe/Lois sister-like relationship and his craving for that family atmosphere. I would've loved if Chloe had said, "I'm you're family."
