Legend of the Seeker 2.07 "Resurrection" & 2.08 "Light"
I was going to wait until I completely caught up before posting on the show but with a new Smallville, a busy saturday night, and an itch to write something for Porn Battle IX going on I figured I'd write up my thoughts on these two episodes before I forget.
Denna. In S1 I adored the character, her breaking of Richard, and then how she costs Richard and Jennsen the life of their mother and how Richard nearly beat her to death while under the Power of Orden. Then she comes back in these episodes and is a total bitch! Any interest in the character I had died with how her downfall went. I think my Mord-Sith affection had transferred to Cara and this was just the final nail in the coffin. It is amazing how different Denna looks with her hair down when compared to it in the braid for her Mord-Sith attire.
Dennee. I was surprised to see her return. In S1 she was a character I always had a lot of interest in, figuring she had survived the initial episode's ride, and when she returned I was disappointed for her to leave again having a baby and all that. Then in S2 to have her die offscreen had me so disappointed. I love that she's back but I'll miss her old look (I liked that contrast between her and Kahlan) and then to have her go off into hiding like Jennsen is a little disappointing.
Zedd, Richard & Kahlan. It's amazing how much the level of PDA jumped in these last two episodes. The restraint they had in S1 seems completely gone and it's interesting. I was disappointed with Zedd, falling into the clutches of Denna and then not having tried hard to get free from her or lure Kahlan and Cara faster to him (how killer was Cara's arrow to Denna?). Like there's no time delay magic that could have had the corpses return to their true form by the time Kahlan & Cara (Team Purple) came upon it?
It looks like the story is heading into an interesting time. Richard's deadly wizard power inside him, Zedd needing to name a new Seeker, I just hope the time of separation isn't too great (Although Richard kicking the invisible Mriswiths asses was cool).
